The Joint Commission
The Joint Commission is an accrediting agency whose primary focus is to help organizations "provide safe, high quality care to their patients." The Joint Commission's approach to accreditation is "patient centered and data driven" to evaluate how an organization is performing. The Joint Commission conducts an unannounced, independent evaluation of the organization's compliance with set standards that promotes high quality and safe care to patients. Once accredited, the organization receives "The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval."
